U.S. Air Force - CCAS
Engineer RS&H
Contract $11.4 Million
Duration
7 Months
Completion: 1994
Features
Lift-off of a Titan IV launch vehicle illuminates four of RUSH Construction's lightning protection towers.  Critical U.S. Air Force schedules dictated that procurement, engineering, fabrication and installation of this eight tower project be completed in two highly accelerated phases.  EAch of the 125-ton towers, designed by RS&H, rests on 85 ft deep foundations and reaches as high as a 40-story building.  Successful management of highly specialized subcontractors and daily schedule monitoring of the $11 million, seven-month project, prompted Martin Marietta (now Lockheed Martin) to select RUSH for a construction achievement award.
